Italian Serie A club AS Roma has submitted a €25 million ($27.1 million) bid to sign Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read.
The offer marks active negotiations with the Dutch club for the young defender.

Reports on Thursday confirmed that AS Roma initiated formal discussions with Feyenoord.
The bid represents a major push by the Serie A side to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the upcoming season.
Nottingham Forest Still in Pursuit
Nottingham Forest has not abandoned its pursuit of Read, despite earlier reports claiming the English club had ended negotiations.
Feyenoord previously rejected an improved €22 million offer from Nottingham Forest, but the Premier League team remains interested.
Read had reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Nottingham Forest. However, the full-back is open to a potential move to AS Roma as negotiations progress.

The potential arrival of Read in Rome is expected to impact AS Roma's defensive squad structure. Current defender Devyne Rensch could face increased competition for playing time.
According to Voetbal International, "In Rome, Read would have to compete with Rensch, although Gian Piero Gasperini is satisfied with the ex-Ajax player."
Rensch's versatility on the left flank provides sufficient playing prospects at the club following his arrival in the winter of 2025.
Meanwhile, AS Roma left-back Anass Salah-Eddine is preparing to depart the club.
