The UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched a formal investigation into a British Airways flight that experienced an in-flight stall over London.
The incident occurred on July 6 as Flight BA919 from Dusseldorf was approaching London Heathrow Airport.

The aircraft, an Airbus A320, was at approximately 4,000 feet when one of its data systems failed, causing the plane to stall and lose lift above Canary Wharf.
The event was classified as a Loss of Control In-flight and designated as Pilot Induced.
Captain Intervened Physically
The first officer's initial attempt to resolve the system failure required the captain to physically override the controls to stabilize the jet.

"To recover from this position is difficult, especially so low to the ground.
It is unheard of for a captain to physically intervene in the cockpit," a source said.
British Airways confirmed it is cooperating fully with investigators.

The AAIB probe remains ongoing as safety officials assess the operational factors involved.
