Chelsea is accelerating its squad overhaul under new manager Xabi Alonso following the acquisition of defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace.

The London club aims to streamline its roster after missing out on European competition last season.

Already, Chelsea has completed a major signing in Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers and is closing in on deals for Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson.

Defensive Overhaul Underway

In defense, Chelsea is actively looking to sell Trevoh Chalobah and Axel Disasi.

Como leads the race for Chalobah after submitting an improved offer, while Disasi has reportedly rejected a return to West Ham United.

Benoît Badiashile is also available for transfer, attracting interest from Newcastle United and Napoli.

Midfield and Left-Back Targets

To bolster midfield, Chelsea is pursuing Bournemouth's Alex Scott, though an initial £64 million ($85.2 million) bid was rejected.

On the left flank, the Blues have agreed personal terms with Rayo Vallecano fullback Pep Chavarría and are seeking a resolution regarding his £21.5 million ($28.6 million) release clause.

Alonso is reportedly seeking further squad changes with targeted departures and incoming transfers ahead of the upcoming season.
