Hollywood studios are exercising caution regarding new projects with actor Ryan Reynolds following the publicity surrounding a legal battle between his wife, Blake Lively, and director Justin Baldoni.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, studio executives are weighing Reynolds' high salary requirements against unwanted press attention stemming from the litigation.

However, sources close to Reynolds' production banner, Maximum Effort, maintain that business operations continue as normal under existing partnerships with major distributors.
The scrutiny follows a complex legal dispute that began when Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 over allegations of sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us.
Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively and Reynolds for defamation, which a federal judge dismissed in June 2025 before both parties reached a settlement on May 4 without admitting wrongdoing.
Reynolds became directly involved in the court record when unsealed communication revealed his sharp criticism of Baldoni's management during the film's production.
Industry coverage also noted that beverage company Diageo closed the Aviation American Gin visitor center in Portland, Oregon, citing general business shifts rather than the actor's legal ties.

Despite the media focus, Reynolds returned to major promotional events on July 25 during Marvel Studios' presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, appearing in full costume to preview upcoming franchise developments.
Reynolds addressed his ongoing career trajectory and character involvement during a panel at Fanatics Fest, expressing his intent to continue developing the comic book franchise.
"There's a few really deep cuts that I think are missing from the movies," said Reynolds, later adding, "I think a few deep cuts is missing from some of the comics."
Concluding his remarks, Reynolds reaffirmed his long-term commitment to the character: "There's stuff upcoming, there's eventually, you know, remotely another Deadpool film.
It's going to be great."
