The win cemented Mexico's position at the top of Group B with six points and a +5 goal difference, ahead of Guatemala, who also have six points but a +3 goal difference.

Diego Ramírez opened the scoring just before halftime, finishing a left-wing cross. He dedicated the goal to teammate Santiago Sandoval, who recently underwent successful surgery.
In the second half, Hugo Camberos doubled the lead with his second goal of the tournament, capitalizing on a rebound.
Luis Gamboa then extended the advantage with a long-range strike, and Nelson Cedillo sealed the 4-0 result with a direct free-kick.

Under coach Álex Diego Tejado, Mexico has not conceded a single goal in the tournament, having previously beaten Antigua and Barbuda 3-0 and Costa Rica 2-0.
Guatemala, despite the loss, remains in contention but must win by a two-goal margin in their next match to overtake Mexico in the standings.
Mexico aims to qualify for the 2027 U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

To achieve this, they must reach the semifinals of the CONCACAF tournament and win the championship to secure direct Olympic qualification.
