Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Tanner Scott has moved back to a setup role following the activation of closer Edwin Diaz from the injured list.
Diaz was activated on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, and immediately earned a save in the Dodgers' 4-2 win over the Seattle Mariners.

Scott pitched the eighth inning in that game, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one batter.
His outing was supported by a spectacular catch from left fielder Teoscar Hernandez.
Scott's Performance During Diaz's Absence
Earlier in the season, Scott took over primary closing duties when Diaz landed on the injured list following major elbow surgery.

During that stretch, Scott converted 10 saves in a 15-outing span and 11 of 12 opportunities dating back to early June.
Overall this season, the 32-year-old left-hander has posted a 2.47 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP over 43.2 innings across 45 appearances, with 56 strikeouts and 16 total saves.
Before his injury, Diaz struggled in seven games, recording a 10.50 ERA.

Despite shifting back to a setup capacity, Scott is expected to retain fantasy value and may still earn occasional save opportunities depending on matchups or when Diaz needs rest during the pennant race.
