Galanz Americas is recalling approximately 121,680 retro-style refrigerators in the United States, following reports of electrical failures that have led to fires and one death.

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on July 30, 2026, citing that internal electrical components can short circuit and ignite, posing serious fire and burn hazards.

According to the commission, there have been 34 reported fires and one fatality linked to the faulty appliances.

Affected Models and Identification

The recall covers 7.6-cubic-foot refrigerators, measuring 58 inches high, 24 inches deep, and 21 inches wide, sold in black, blue, red, and white.

These units were available at Home Depot stores nationwide and online at Amazon. com between January 2019 and September 2022, with prices ranging from $330 to $520.

Specific models involved include BCD-215V-62H, GLR76TRDER, GLR76TBKER, GLR76TBEER, and GLR76TWEER.

Consumers can identify affected units by checking the white label on the upper left-hand corner of the back, which displays date codes from December 2018 through December 2020 in a YYYYMM format.

Action Required

Federal authorities urge all owners to immediately unplug the refrigerators and stop using them.
