Residents of Zurinkstraat and municipal officials in Tubbergen have issued joint statements condemning an arson attack that destroyed a Syrian family's car in Geesteren.
The incident occurred four days ago, and concerns over local safety continue to grow.

The targeted residence had suffered previous acts of vandalism over the past year, including shattered windows.
In response, the municipality plans to re-install security cameras at the home on Friday, following an earlier installation in April that failed to deter vandals.
Community Solidarity
Neighborhood residents expressed solidarity with the victims while calling for an end to the escalating fear in their community.
"We deeply sympathize with the affected family.
No one should have to live in fear in their own home or neighborhood," residents said in a joint statement.
The neighbors emphasized that recent events have severely damaged the local sense of security.
They publicly addressed the issue to urge police action without speculating on suspects or motives.
"Our wish is simple: that peace returns and that all residents can feel safe again in their own street," they added.
To support the family, community members launched a fundraising campaign for a replacement vehicle. The father relies on the car to commute to work in Hengelo.
"With this joint initiative, we want to show that the family is not alone," the organizers said.

Municipal Condemnation
The Tubbergen Municipal Council also issued a formal condemnation of the night-time attack, describing it as an act of intimidation and violence against the entire community.
