Randy Orton and Kevin Owens are expected to make their WWE returns soon, with Orton potentially appearing within the next week, just ahead of SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Orton was originally slated to defeat Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, but a back injury forced WWE to change those plans.

Dave Meltzer reported that both stars are expected back very soon, noting Orton could return within the next week.
Owens, who has been recovering from neck fusion surgery, has not competed since March 2025.
Meltzer clarified that Orton had claimed he was not injured, but in reality, his back condition led to significant changes in WWE's booking.
He added that the door was left open for a Rhodes vs. Orton match at WrestleMania, and Orton's return might involve interfering with Rhodes or CM Punk.
Orton's last match was a loss to Rhodes at WrestleMania 42 in April 2026, during which his back injury was mentioned.

He later tweeted about enjoying his summer off before aiming for his 15th World Championship.
Kevin Owens' return is also imminent. He has missed the last two WrestleManias due to a neck injury requiring surgery.
During his recovery, Owens has been involved as a coach on the A&E series WWE LFG and appeared in WWE digital content.
Owens was spotted in Minneapolis ahead of SummerSlam 2026, fueling speculation about his in-ring return at the event.
This would mark his first match since April 2025.

WWE SummerSlam 2026 is scheduled for August 1 and 2 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, airing live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally.
