Dutch media personality Johan Derksen has sharply criticized actress Isa Hoes in a column published in De Telegraaf on August 1, 2026.

The criticism targets her annual public remembrance of her late former husband, Antonie Kamerling.

The 59-year-old actress also recently disclosed the results of her cosmetic surgery during an episode of her podcast with Marc-Marie Huijbregts.

Derksen expressed severe disapproval of how Hoes continuously discusses her past relationship across public platforms. He described the ongoing public displays as unconvincing and attention-seeking.

"The acted grief is no longer credible," wrote Johan Derksen in De Telegraaf.

In his column, Derksen condemned the annual public tributes, framing them as a calculated effort rather than a genuine expression of mourning.

"The anniversary of Antonie Kamerling's death is an annual tearjerker with dramatized texts by Isa Hoes," wrote Johan Derksen.

He added that the behavior appears unhealthy after a decade and a half of constant public exposure.

"After fifteen years, widow Hoes continues to wallow in her grief, which she manages to sustain year after year," wrote Johan Derksen.

Derksen argued that the public has grown tired of hearing the same narrative repeated across media outlets continuously.

"Even though the Netherlands can dream the story by now, it is starting to look like a sickly craving for attention," wrote Johan Derksen.

He described his physical aversion to the continued public coverage surrounding her private life.

"The acted grief is no longer credible. It is enough to make you sick," wrote Johan Derksen.
