Over the past two years, nine cars have crashed into her property, leaving her constantly on edge.

She lives on a corner lot near a sharp curve on Wilkens Avenue.
Despite clear signage, drivers frequently take the bend too fast, understeer, and end up on her lawn.
The repeated incidents have cost her thousands of dollars in repairs to trees, grass, and mailboxes.
She is now advocating for speed humps to slow traffic, but the process is not straightforward.
Baltimore County has determined that the road qualifies for speed humps. However, at least 75 percent of property owners adjacent to the proposed humps must approve the plan.

Even then, funding must be secured.
Previous traffic calming measures, such as rumble strips, have proven ineffective. The most recent crash involved a dark blue Nissan Rogue, captured on security footage.
The SUV understeered through the corner, smashed through boulders, and came to rest just feet from her home.
Fortunately, Cantafio was not in the yard at the time.

She hopes that speed humps will finally prevent future incidents and restore her peace of mind.
