Peregryn Automotive is bringing Ultima's supercar production to America, with the GT-R promising 700 hp and a featherweight chassis.

The company has acquired the intellectual property, rights, and tooling for the entire Ultima Cars range.

Led by Chris Eby and Mike Ellis, Peregryn will build two models in the U. S.

: the GT-S and the GT-R.

The GT-S is the road-focused version, producing over 500 hp and topping 200 mph.

It offers a choice of digital or analog dashboards, catering to owners who want a less punishing drive off the track.

The GT-R, however, is the track weapon. It targets up to 700 hp and weighs around 2,100 lbs dry.

Track-focused suspension, a sequential gearbox, race electronics, and a carbon-fiber aero package generating over 1,200 lbs of downforce are standard.

AP Racing brakes bring it from 100 mph to a stop in 3.6 seconds.

Both cars use Chevrolet LS or LT-series V8s, a practical choice that gives owners access to a vast performance aftermarket.

This is a significant shift from Ultima's kit-car heritage, as Peregryn will sell fully assembled cars.

Pricing starts around $195,000, placing it in Corvette ZR1 territory.

While the Corvette offers a dealer network and warranty, the Peregryn GT-R provides a low-volume, Le Mans-style V8 missile that weighs less than a Miata.
