Smart's upcoming #2 city car has been exposed ahead of its official debut, thanks to regulatory filings in China.

The fully electric model is slated to premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October.

The filings, published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, reveal the production-ready design and key specifications.

The #2 marks Smart's return to the city car segment, developed under the Mercedes-Benz and Geely joint venture.

Design and Dimensions

The production car closely follows the Concept #2 from April 2026, with minor tweaks including smaller wheels, a simplified grille, and conventional door handles.

Buyers can opt for bi-tone paint, a concept-style grille cover, and various wheel designs.

Length varies between 2,751 and 2,764 mm, making it slightly longer than its predecessor, while the wheelbase remains nearly identical at 1,875 mm.

The turning circle matches the EQ Fortwo's 6.95 meters.

Powertrain and Range

The Smart #2 rides on Geely's Electric Compact Architecture with a rear-mounted 80 hp motor, top speed of 140 km/h, and a curb weight of 1,130 kg.

It uses an LFP battery from CATL, targeting a WLTP range of 300 km (186 miles) and a CLTC range of 400 km.

DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in under 20 minutes, and V2L functionality is included.

The interior remains under wraps, but the concept hinted at a floating infotainment screen and circular vents.

Production will take place in China, with global sales including Europe following the Paris debut.
