The Kia PV7, an upcoming electric van, has been spotted undergoing testing in Europe.
Set to debut at the IAA Transportation show on September 14, the PV7 will be the second model in Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup.
Spy photographers captured the commercial vehicle with a boxy, one-box profile and a relatively flat roof to maximize cargo capacity.
The prototype features dual sliding doors with an unusual window arrangement, vertical taillights, and a liftgate at the rear.
Black accents on the thick rear pillars create the illusion of a wraparound greenhouse.
The PV7 follows the PV5, introduced last year, and shares a stepped front end and expansive windshield design.
Size and Platform
The PV7 is expected to measure around 208.6 inches (5,300 mm) long, significantly larger than the PV5 Cargo Long at 184.8 inches (4,695 mm).
It will ride on the Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service (E-GMP.
S), a fleet-focused version of the E-GMP architecture used in Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Genesis GV60.
Powertrain details are still under wraps, but the PV5 offers battery options of 43.3 kWh LFP and 51.5/71.2 kWh NCM packs.
Motors in the PV5 produce up to 161 hp (120 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque.
Given the PV7's larger size, it may adopt the bigger batteries and possibly a more powerful motor.
More details are expected later this month at the official unveiling.
