Celtic and Dunfermline Athletic will compete for the Scottish Cup trophy this afternoon at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p. m.

BST.

The match features a high-stakes managerial matchup between Celtic manager Martin O'Neill and Dunfermline manager Neil Lennon.

Lennon previously spent nearly a decade playing under O'Neill at Leicester City and Celtic.

Dunfermline Athletic enters the showcase as a Championship side seeking its first major silverware since 1968. The team suffered a promotion playoff semifinal loss last week.

The reigning Scottish Premiership champions Celtic enter as heavy favorites. They secured their latest league title just one week ago.

Lennon Dismisses 'Master vs Apprentice' Narrative

Lennon, who took over Dunfermline 14 months ago after managing Celtic starting in 2010, dismissed characterizations of the matchup as a battle between a master and an apprentice.

"It would be surreal considering how long I've known [Martin], what he's done for my career and what influence he's had on me," Lennon said.

The 54-year-old manager noted that his age makes the apprentice label inaccurate despite the significant history shared between the two leaders.

Match organizers will release official team lineups and pre-game coverage ahead of the scheduled kickoff time.
