Jamie Vardy faces an uncertain future after US Cremonese were officially relegated from Serie A, following a chaotic 4-1 defeat to Como on the final day of the season.

The 39-year-old striker had signed a one-year contract with the Italian side, which included a clause for a second year if the club avoided relegation.

However, Cremonese finished four points short of safety, ending any chance of a playoff.

Chaotic Defeat Seals Relegation

The match against Como descended into chaos in the second half after a controversial penalty was awarded against Cremonese following a VAR review.

Players protested aggressively, leading to three red cards: substitute Milan Djuric, midfielder Alberto Grassi, and substitute David Okereke were all sent off for dissent.

Lucas Da Cunha converted the disputed penalty and later added another goal to secure Como's victory.

Meanwhile, Lecce's 1-0 win over Genoa guaranteed their survival, leaving Cremonese in the relegation zone.

Vardy concluded his debut season in Italy with seven goals across all competitions.

Following the relegation, the former England international has been linked with a potential summer move to English club Sheffield Wednesday.
