The New York Knicks mounted a stunning 29-point comeback to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
The victory was sealed when OG Anunoby hit a decisive shot with 1.2 seconds remaining, igniting wild celebrations among fans and high-profile celebrities in attendance.
Actress Mariska Hargitay, who ran approximately 10 blocks from her Broadway show to the arena, described the night as potentially the greatest of her life.
“I Love My Husband … but It Might Have Been the Greatest Night of My Life,” Hargitay said.
She noted that the viral media coverage helped validate the surreal experience.
“The best part of the videos and memes from last night is that I can say, ‘THAT REALLY HAPPENED!!
And I was there!’” she added.
Hargitay emphasized that the game carried deeper meaning beyond basketball.
“Last night wasn’t about basketball. It wasn’t even about sports.
It was about life—and what it means to do battle for your dream,” she said.
Media personality Jake Shane watched from a luxury box alongside Tate McRae and Hailey Bieber.
“It felt like I was witnessing history,” Shane said.
DJ Samantha Ronson, who traveled to San Antonio for Game 1 with her brother Mark Ronson, described the emotional rollercoaster of the comeback.
“It was the best night of my life,” Ronson said.
She noted that dedicated Knicks fans refused to leave despite the early deficit.
“If you’re a Knicks fan, nothing matters till the fourth quarter,” she said.
Ronson credited her lucky vintage T-shirt for the win, jokingly taking blame for a previous loss when she didn't wear it.
“I wore the same vintage T-shirt in San Antonio for the game on Friday, and I wore the same shirt last night.
But I didn’t wear it Monday—that’s my bad. It’s my fault we lost,” she said.
Fan Christian Saccomano sold his Game 3 tickets for $15,000 due to high costs and security surrounding Donald Trump's appearance, using the proceeds to fly friends from Los Angeles to New York for Game 5.
“Being able to experience these games with friends is better than going to MSG and not being with the people that I’ve watched this team alongside all year long,” Saccomano said.
Longtime fan Roy Nimron traveled from Las Vegas to join his brother Jeff for Game 4, viewing the championship run as a basketball pilgrimage.
The series continues with Game 5 in New York.
