H-E-B has restored its online curbside and home delivery services across Texas following a temporary suspension caused by a system issue.

The grocery chain resumed operations on Thursday evening, July 2, 2026, after an outage that affected major metropolitan areas including San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and Dallas.

Self-Imposed Pause

The company voluntarily halted orders to address the technical problem, emphasizing it was not due to a software crash or security breach.

An H-E-B spokesperson stated, "We have issued a self-imposed pause on all Curbside and Home Delivery orders.

This is not related to a software crash or security breach."

The retailer placed a notice on its app: "Online ordering is currently unavailable. Check back soon."

During the disruption, many customers took to social media to express frustration, with some reporting pickup slots delayed by a week.

H-E-B responded to affected shoppers on platform X, reiterating the nature of the pause and apologizing for the inconvenience.

The company did not disclose the specific technical cause behind the temporary suspension, according to reports from KSAT.
