Captain Shreyas Iyer replaced spinner Ravi Bishnoi with Prince Yadav. Bishnoi conceded 60 runs in the previous match.
Iyer defended his bowler, calling the expensive spell a "hiccup" and a learning opportunity for the young squad.
The short boundary on the Bridgford Road side influenced India's decision to bowl first.
"We want to maximise the use of it and see how they bat," Iyer said.
England Unchanged
England captain Harry Brook named the same playing eleven that won on Saturday.
Brook praised his team's performance at Old Trafford, especially the bowling in the middle overs and Jacob Bethell's unbeaten 76.
"Every game is a big game against India," Brook said. "Hopefully we can go 2-0."
Left-arm bowler Arshdeep Singh opened the bowling for India, delivering a maiden over to Phil Salt.
