Sheffield Wednesday are finalizing a season-long loan move for Hull City forward Mason Burstow, according to multiple reports.
Manager Henrik Pedersen aims to bolster his frontline ahead of the upcoming League One campaign.
The 22-year-old striker is expected to leave Hull City's pre-season training camp in Slovenia to complete the switch to Hillsborough.
He will not join his parent club's leg of the tour in Istanbul.
Burstow joined Hull two years ago from Chelsea in a £2 million deal on a four-year contract. He made 32 appearances and scored two goals for the Tigers.
Pedersen's Transfer Plans
The move comes as the Owls look to replace missed transfer targets, including Tommi O'Reilly, who recently joined League One rivals Notts County.
Wednesday have already utilized the Premier League loan market heavily this window, adding players such as Louie Barry and Sil Swinkels from Aston Villa alongside Harry Gray from Leeds United.
Burstow previously spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, featuring in 45 matches and scoring 12 goals.
He helped the club earn promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.
From the Owls' Hungarian training camp, Pedersen outlined the squad's remaining requirements. "Of course, we still need some offensive players," he said.
"We still need a nine. We still need a right-sided winger.
We still need more players. We are working very, very hard to find some really, really good solutions."
Pedersen added: "I'm really happy with the players we have got, and if we can keep this level, then it is looking very positive."
Burstow described his playing style upon initially joining Hull. "I play through the middle and always try to be a threat in the box," he said.
"I can link play, hold it up and run in behind. Hopefully, there are different avenues the manager can use me."
When Burstow joined Bolton on loan, then-head coach Steven Schumacher expressed confidence in the striker's development potential.
"He's still a young player but one with a good taste of first-team experience at a high level who wants to keep improving and developing with us," Schumacher said.
"Hopefully we will bring the best out of him in a role he's keen to play."
Meanwhile, Leicester City manager Martin confirmed that reinforcing the attack remains a central focus after missing out on Burstow.
"The topline, both wide positions and a number nine, I think it's really clear," Martin said.
"We have really good competition for places in the back four and midfield, we've got a lot of good football players.
So the top line right now, we need to strengthen that."
Negotiations between Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City are expected to progress over the next 24 hours as formal paperwork is finalized.
