Burnley has completed the signing of midfielder Ugo Raghouber from French club Lille for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old Frenchman signed a four-year contract at Turf Moor on July 28, 2026.
Raghouber spent the second half of last season on loan in La Liga with Levante, where he made 16 appearances.
He now joins Burnley as the squad prepares for the new Championship season under head coach Nicky Hayen.
The defensive midfielder arrives alongside Spanish winger Lluc Castell as part of the summer transfer business at Turf Moor.
Raghouber appears to be a direct replacement for Florentino Luis, who is nearing a transfer to Premier League newcomers Hull City.
"Once I heard of the interest in coming here, I knew I wanted to get the move done," said Raghouber.
The midfielder expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Championship club and embarking on the next stage of his career.
"I'm now ready for the next chapter in my career and to give my all for this club and the fans," he added.
Speaking after a friendly against Ajax, Burnley head coach Nicky Hayen addressed the team's pursuit of new signings ahead of an upcoming friendly against Espanyol.
"That's a possibility. We have a list with a lot of players," said Hayen.
Hayen emphasized that the club prioritizes players who display strong commitment and dedication to the team's goals.
"What's most important, we really want players who are dedicated to come to Burnley, who want to play for promotion, who want to show it on the pitch every single day.
First on the training ground, but also in the stadium," he said.
He noted that performance on the field remains the primary way to engage and satisfy the club's supporters.
"We want to delight the fans, not by speaking the words, but by showing the performances. This is what we actually want to do," said Hayen.
When questioned about potential incoming transfers prior to Burnley's match against Espanyol, Hayen commented on the ongoing efforts behind the scenes.
"Possible, maybe," he said.
The manager concluded by highlighting the continuous collaboration within the club's leadership to secure squad additions.
"Like I said before in the interview, we're working really hard behind the scenes, and this is what we keep on doing on and off the pitch, with the management and really good and open communication," said Hayen.
Hayen added that the club will continue its transfer efforts methodically as the preseason progresses.
"So everything we can do, we will do, but step by step," he said.
