Bugatti has revealed a new one-off hypercar called the Destrier, which transforms the track-only Bolide into a road-legal machine.
It retains the carbon fiber monocoque and the quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine, now producing 1,578 hp (1,177 kW / 1,600 PS).
The Destrier is the third unique commission under Bugatti's exclusive Programme Solitaire, following the Brouillard and the Veyron-inspired F.
K. P Hommage.
Unlike those cars, which were based on the Chiron, the Destrier shares its technical base with the Bolide.
Design and Styling
Standing just 1 meter tall, the Destrier is significantly lower than any other Bugatti except the Bolide.
Its name refers to the strongest breed of medieval warhorse, and the design trades the Bolide's massive wings for a more sculptural form.
The C-shaped element along the profile is narrower and extends into the front end, highlighting the wide horseshoe grille.
LED headlights sit on slim fenders, complemented by a wraparound windshield, a vented hood, and a large roof scoop.
Other details include deep air channels behind the front wheels, semi-exposed rear tires, an integrated wing above the taillights, and large quad tailpipes.
The Bolide's 18-inch wheels are replaced with custom 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloys.
The one-off wears a bespoke Sapphire Celeste shade with a sparkling effect, accented by polished aluminum and tinted carbon fiber.
Inside the engine bay, the brightwork features a hand-hammered finish, a nod to knightly armor.
Bugatti describes the Bolide and Destrier as modern equivalents of the Le Mans-winning Type 57G Tank and the Type 57SC Atlantic.
A laser-engraved plate above the windscreen depicts both classics.
Inside, the two-seater cabin mirrors the Bolide's layout but uses unique materials.
Ambre Voyageur brown leather and nubuck are paired with a 3D-knitted textile with woven copper threads on the dashboard and door cards, plus hammered metal finishes.
Bugatti has not released performance figures, but the Destrier is expected to be extremely fast.
It will make its public debut during Monterey Car Week, culminating at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 16, 2026.
The car was commissioned by an unnamed client for an undisclosed sum. Given its track-focused roots, it likely shares a garage with a Bolide.
