Costa Rica begins its 2026/27 CONCACAF Nations League A campaign by hosting Curacao on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The Group A match will be played at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Ayma in San Jose, with kickoff set for 10:00 PM ET.
Both teams open a four-game group stage that also includes Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.
Squad Decisions and Group Outlook
Costa Rica enters the tournament under head coach Fernando Batista after failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Batista has selected a 30-player squad that features 13 players under the age of 23.
Forward Manfred Ugalde and injured defender Shawn Johnson were left out of the roster.
Midfielder Orlando Galo remains included despite dealing with a leg injury.
Curacao returns to League A after earning promotion in the 2024/25 edition and playing in its first World Cup earlier this year under manager Dick Advocaat.
Advocaat retained 37-year-old goalkeeper Eloy Room and named prospective debutants Kiyani Zeggen, Nigel Thomas, and Kyano Penso to the squad.
The fixture is the first meeting between the two nations since 2019.
Curacao is seeking its second historical win over Costa Rica, following a previous victory nearly 80 years ago.
