Sri Lanka recovered from a top-order collapse to post 165 for 9 against Bangladesh in the Asian Games men's cricket third-place playoff on October 3, 2026, at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.

Sri Lanka lost four wickets inside the first four overs before a late counter-attack lifted them to a competitive total in the bronze-medal contest.

Tharindu Ratnayake struck his maiden half-century to anchor the second-half resurgence alongside captain Sahan Arachchige.

The pair shared a 93-run partnership off 46 deliveries, with Arachchige contributing 33 runs.

Sri Lanka added 50 runs in the final overs and accumulated 114 runs across the last 10 overs of their innings.

Bangladesh's bowling attack struggled late in the innings, with Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain conceding significant runs.

Spinner Nasum Ahmed bowled just two overs during the innings despite early success by the bowling unit.

The match followed tough semi-final losses for both sides.

Bangladesh lost to Pakistan after failing to defend 111 runs in a reduced 13-over match, while Sri Lanka was bowled out for 45 runs by India, marking their lowest T20I total.
