Liverpool has identified RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande as a key summer transfer target to reinforce their attacking options, according to reports from The Athletic.

The Premier League club is preparing for the departure of Mohamed Salah.

The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain, though the French club needs to offload players first.

Liverpool has established a favorable position with the player, but a deal depends on manager Arne Slot securing Champions League qualification.

Leipzig aims to retain Diomande for another season after qualifying for the 2026-27 Champions League. However, the Bundesliga side would consider offers exceeding €100 million.

Diomande enjoyed a breakthrough season with Leipzig, scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

He also earned a spot in Emerse Fae's Ivory Coast World Cup squad after scoring three goals in nine international matches.

The winger joined Leipzig from Leganes in July 2025 and has a contract until June 2030.

German football correspondent Seb Stafford Bloor noted that tracking data ranked Diomande as the fifth-fastest player in the Bundesliga this season.

Addressing transfer speculation earlier this month, Diomande said: "Imagine people say you go to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job… you’re going to be happy and motivated to do more.

I don’t think about it too much because my focus is on the pitch."

Liverpool previously invested around £450 million including add-ons in the transfer window 12 months ago, while generating £200 million from player sales.
