The 32-year-old Japanese fighter holds a professional record of 21-6. Since joining the UFC, he has zero wins and two losses, both by second-round submission.
Asakura was fast-tracked into a flyweight title fight against Alexandre Pantoja in December 2024, then lost to veteran Tim Elliott in August 2025.
Asakura holds a black belt in Zendo-Kai karate and a purple belt in jiu-jitsu.
