Feyenoord is closely monitoring PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Joel Drommel as a potential replacement for Timon Wellenreuther ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports from ESPN.

Drommel remains under contract with PSV until mid-2027, but the reigning champions are reportedly willing to cooperate with a transfer due to a lack of first-team prospects under manager Peter Bosz.

Interest from Multiple Clubs

Eindhovens Dagblad club watcher Rik Elfrink noted that Drommel will likely leave Eindhoven if an acceptable offer arrives, drawing potential interest from foreign clubs in the Championship and 2.

Bundesliga, alongside Feyenoord.

"Drommel zal natuurlijk gaan, als er voor hem een goed bod komt," Elfrink said.

Elfrink added that a Sparta follower described the goalkeeper as perfectly suited for a mid-table team after a highly satisfactory loan spell.

"Ik had het met een Sparta-volger over hem. Hij zei: eigenlijk was Drommel hartstikke prima voor ons dit seizoen.

Uitstekende keeper op het niveau van Sparta, zo in de middenmoot," Elfrink said.

The potential acquisition by Feyenoord hinges on the future of Timon Wellenreuther, who is entering the final year of his contract and holds a market value of five million euros.
