St. Johns Golf Club director of golf Wes Tucker has been named the North Florida PGA Section Professional of the Year.

The award was presented during the section's recent ceremony at the Evermore Orlando Resort.

Tucker has managed golf operations at the municipal course in Elkton since 1989.

Earlier this year, he also won the Northern Chapter Pro of the Year title and was elected section secretary, a role that positions him to eventually lead the nation's third-largest PGA section.

Hall of Fame Inductees and Other Awards

Jacksonville Area Golf Association President Duke Butler III and former TPC Sawgrass general manager Bill Hughes were inducted into the section Hall of Fame.

Sawgrass Country Club general manager Stefan Brunt received the Club Executive of the Year award and earned a seat on the section board.

Merchandiser of the Year honors went to Atlantic Beach Country Club pro Rich Podwalski in the Private category and TPC Sawgrass director of golf Brian Riddle in the Resort category.

Nick Nuzzo of TPC Sawgrass was named Assistant Professional of the Year, while Monique Gesualdi of St. Johns Golf Club received the Player Development Award.
