Additionally, the newly laid pitch at the American football venue made quick ball movement difficult. "It was very uneven," Tuchel said.
"It was difficult to move the ball and move the ball quickly."
Despite the conditions, both teams completed the friendly without any injuries. Tuchel acknowledged that overseas tours often require adapting to non-traditional surfaces.
Kane's Goal Decides the Match
The decisive moment came when Kane converted a cross from Djed Spence just before halftime. Tuchel praised the striker's impact: "That's what he does.
He is always there to score. In the end, it is the decisive goal."
The manager believes the goal gave confidence to the second-half group. "It is a bit easier for the second group to start with a 1-0," he said.
"Harry is in top shape and I think when the pressure comes and the tournament starts, that will bring the best out of our players."
New Zealand manager Darren Bazeley acknowledged the friendly's purpose for both teams.
"Most countries, including England today, want to get everybody good minutes, acclimatised, get the legs moving heading into the World Cup," he said.
Bazeley noted that England must improve to win the tournament.
"England were good today, but they need to be better to go and win the World Cup than they were today, even though they won the game," he added.
The match featured the international debut of 17-year-old Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha. Jude Bellingham captained the side in the second half.
