The United States Men's National Team secured a commanding 4-1 victory over Paraguay in their World Cup group stage match on Friday at Los Angeles Stadium.

Midfielders Malik Tillman and Weston McKennie exploited defensive gaps early, finding open space up the channel to destabilize Paraguay's structured defense.

"I just tried to run in behind," McKennie said. "I think I realized early on that they were struggling to follow my deep runs.

If it's not broken, don't fix it."

The pairing of McKennie and Tillman alongside defensive midfielder Tyler Adams allowed the co-hosts to dictate the tempo through smooth possession recirculation in the first half.

Defensive Record and Attacking Threat

Crystal Palace center-back Chris Richards anchored the backline alongside Tim Ream, setting a new World Cup record by completing 83 passes with a 100% success rate.

"Honestly, I wasn't second guessing myself," Richards said. "Playing with pain's OK as long as I'm not second-guessing myself."

Forward Folarin Balogun used his physical strength and tactical movement to consistently threaten Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gill.
