Algeria's national football team is turning its attention to upcoming Group J fixtures after a 3-0 loss to reigning champions Argentina in their opening 2026 FIFA World Cup match.
The defeat leaves Algeria at the bottom of the group, despite entering the tournament with friendly wins over the Netherlands and Bolivia.

Players Vow to Correct Errors
Defender Ramy Bensebaini said the team will review video footage to analyze performance mistakes.
"We will watch the video to analyze and correct our errors," he told Algerian television.
Forward Riyad Mahrez, who started on the bench, acknowledged the difficulty of facing world champions.
"Even if we stay solid for a long time, they can create a chance and score. They have Messi, that makes the difference," he said to beIN Sports.
Mahrez remained optimistic about qualification. "We still have two matches to qualify, we are confident.

We have to keep hope. We will do it together," he added.
Defender Aïssa Mandi noted that Argentina's clinical finishing was decisive. "What made the difference is that they have a player who doesn't forgive.
Every chance, he puts it in," he said.
Mandi stressed the importance of bouncing back. "The morale is not good tonight, but we will rebound.
Argentina was superior, but we are a team with character," he stated.
