Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura has emerged as a top target for multiple NBA franchises, including the San Antonio Spurs, Brooklyn Nets, and Detroit Pistons, ahead of the 2026 free agency market opening in late June.

The versatile forward is drawing substantial interest following a standout postseason where he averaged 17.5 points per game while shooting 54.9% from the field and an NBA playoff history-record 50.8% from three-point range.

Several teams with cap space or trade assets are positioning themselves to acquire the 28-year-old restricted or unrestricted asset who is expected to command a significant salary increase.

Spurs Seen as Logical Destination

ESPN analyst Bobby Marks highlighted San Antonio as a highly logical destination for the forward following their recent playoff run to the NBA Finals.

Marks noted that the roster possesses the financial flexibility to pursue impactful frontcourt additions during the offseason.

"The Spurs have the flexibility to go out and do some free-agency shopping," said Bobby Marks, ESPN Analyst.

The analyst elaborated that the team requires a versatile big man capable of spacing the floor to open up opportunities for their frontline.

Adding an efficient perimeter-shooting forward would directly address the team's vacancy at the power forward position.

"When you look at the playoffs, they need a combo big man who can complement Victor (Wembanyama)," said Bobby Marks, ESPN Analyst.

The commentator emphasized that a frontline partnership involving the former first-round pick would maximize the capabilities of the roster.
