Preparing for Tunisia
Japan faces Tunisia on Saturday, aiming to overcome historical struggles in the second match of the tournament.
Across seven World Cups, Japan has recorded one victory, three draws, and three defeats in second group games.
Suzuki entered the tournament after securing a spot in the 26-man squad selected by Japan last month.
"This World Cup is a huge chapter in my career. It's the culmination," Suzuki said during the squad announcement.
"I really want results here.
How we do as a team is the most important thing and I want to have a good tournament individually as well," he added.
The Japanese squad seeks to avoid the outcome of Qatar 2022, where an opening victory over Germany was followed by a loss to Costa Rica.
Suzuki emphasized the importance of maintaining early momentum against a restructured Tunisian team now led by Herve Renard.
"I managed to come up with a stop right at the start last time. One play can swing the momentum from their team to yours.
So I hope to do something similar again to give the team a lift," Suzuki said.
