Ecuador Comeback Against Germany

Ecuador defeated Germany 2-1 in New Jersey. Leroy Sane opened the scoring for Germany, but Nilson Angulo and Gonzalo Plata turned the game around.

Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann defended his decision to field a strong lineup despite his team already qualifying.

"Looking at the weeks leading up to the World Cup, one of the key topics was that the team needed time to gel and that we hadn't played enough games together.

Now we've played two matches, and we're already debating how many changes to make. I don't see the point in that," he said.

Netherlands Top Group F

The Netherlands beat Tunisia 3-1 in Kansas City to finish first in Group F.

An own goal by Ellyes Skhiri, a strike from Brian Brobbey, and a second-half goal from Jan Paul van Hecke sealed the win.

Dutch coach Ronald Koeman expressed satisfaction. "I wanted first place in the group, and we finished that way.

I think it had to do with the fact that we went 2-0 up very quickly.

That can be a problem against a stronger opponent and Morocco are an attacking team," he said.

Tunisia coach Herve Renard conceded his team failed to meet standards after exiting without a point.
