Midfielder Sebastian Berhalter became the first U. S.
player since 1966 to record a goal and an assist in the same World Cup match.
He delivered a corner kick in the third minute that allowed defender Auston Trusty to score his first international goal.

Turkey responded with first-half goals from Arda Güler and Orkun Kökçü to take the lead before halftime.
Berhalter then equalized in the 49th minute with a strike from 20 yards out after Turkey failed to clear a throw-in.
Christian Pulisic entered as a substitute in the 58th minute, returning from a calf injury sustained during the tournament opener.
Turkey secured the victory in the eighth minute of stoppage time when Kaan Ayhan scored off a pass from Can Uzun.

The United States will next face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32 at Levi's Stadium on July 1.
