Actress Eva Green was hospitalized following an injury on the Dublin, Ireland set of the Netflix series Wednesday earlier this month, causing a temporary halt in the filming schedule.

The 45-year-old French actress is set to make her debut as Aunt Ophelia in the upcoming third season of the popular show.

An unidentified source reported that she suffered a "nasty" injury during production.

"This was really nasty.

Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances," said a source to The Sun on Sunday.

The production crew immediately sought medical assistance for the actress to ensure her well-being.

"Medics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well," said a source to The Sun on Sunday.

Green's casting was officially announced last November, which put an end to rumors regarding Lady Gaga's role in the series.

At the time of the announcement, the actress expressed immense enthusiasm about joining the cast.

"I'm thrilled to join the woefully twisted world of Wednesday as Aunt Ophelia.

This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can't wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams family," said Eva Green.

The show's creators also shared their excitement about adding her to the high-profile cast, which includes Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Luis Guzman.
