Formula One stewards have cleared McLaren driver Oscar Piastri of any wrongdoing following a post-race investigation at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The governing body looked into allegations that Piastri drove unnecessarily slowly during pre-race reconnaissance laps, potentially breaching Article 12.2.1.

Piastri was summoned to a hearing at 17:10 local time, accompanied by official McLaren representatives.

Evidence Clears Piastri

The stewards reviewed video footage, timing data, and in-car camera evidence before reaching their decision.

“After reviewing the video footage it was evident that the car was well within the specified delta time.

Therefore the Stewards take no further action,” the FIA stated in their official verdict.

The investigation confirmed that Piastri's McLaren remained within mandatory pace thresholds throughout the reconnaissance laps.

Piastri finished the race in fourth place, ahead of his teammate Lando Norris, while Mercedes and Red Bull battled for podium positions.
