Former Ajax player and board member Danny Blind has downplayed the possibility of his son Daley Blind returning to the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speaking on the SBS6 program Het Oranje Café on Monday, June 29, 2026, the elder Blind addressed mounting rumors surrounding the 36-year-old defender.

Daley Blind's contract with recently relegated Girona FC expires at the end of June, making him a free agent.
"Godsamme, ik weet het niet," laughed Danny Blind when asked about a potential transfer.
He clarified that a comeback does not appear to be in development at the moment, despite his son previously playing 333 matches for Ajax across two separate stints before departing in early 2023.
"Het lijkt mij niet," concluded Blind.
Reflecting on comments made two months prior, Danny Blind noted that the initial plan for the 108-cap Netherlands international was to finish his career in Amsterdam before circumstances changed.
"Hij is ooit teruggekomen naar Ajax om hier te stoppen," he stated during an earlier interview.
"Dat is door omstandigheden anders gelopen. Maar ik kan daar niet zo heel veel over zeggen.
Ik ben niet zijn zaakwaarnemer, ik ken ook niet alle ins en outs," explained Blind.
Meanwhile, Danny Blind also addressed the departure of Ajax Director of Football Marijn Beuker, who officially steps down on July 1.
"Hij was al aangesteld voordat ik weer terugkwam in de RvC," Blind emphasized, noting that he was not involved in the decision and could not comment on the motivations behind Beuker's exit.
