The club's sporting director, Marcel Schäfer, made the announcement on June 29, 2026.

The 19-year-old Ivorian reportedly prioritized a move to PSG and had already agreed on a potential five-year contract.

However, the German club took a firm stance against selling the player during this summer transfer window.

"Yan Diomandé will play for RB Leipzig next year, and we will not compromise on this," Schäfer told Bild.

Diomandé attracted attention from major European clubs following his strong performances this season and his impactful play for the Ivory Coast national team in the World Cup.

While a sale could generate a significant transfer fee, Leipzig's management insists on keeping the player for now.

Schäfer acknowledged that the time will come for Diomandé to take the next step in his career, but not this year.
