Bradford City have strengthened their defense by signing Macaulay Gillesphey from Charlton Athletic. The 30-year-old center-back arrives with a proven record of promotion success in League One.
Gillesphey has made over 100 appearances in the third tier of English football, scoring eight goals and providing six assists.

He won the League One title with Plymouth Argyle in the 2022/23 season and later secured promotion to the Championship with Charlton Athletic in 2025.
The defender came through the Newcastle United academy and also gained experience playing for Brisbane Roar in Australia.

"I am very excited to be here, it is a massive club with ambitions. I have played here in the past and the stadium is brilliant," said Gillesphey.
He added that talks about the club's future goals influenced his decision.

"Speaking to the manager and the direction the club is trying to go was a big reason why I signed for the club."
Bradford City manager Graham Alexander welcomed the signing.
"Macaulay joins us after a successful spell at Charlton, following on from another at Plymouth, winning promotion to the Championship at both."
Alexander highlighted the defender's qualities. "He is a very good defender with excellent ability in possession.
