Brighton & Hove Albion have reached an agreement to sign teenage center-back Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth up to £50 million.

The transfer was finalized on July 1, 2026.

The package includes an initial £46 million fee, with add-ons potentially increasing the total to £50 million.

Tottenham will retain a 20 percent sell-on clause and matching rights for any future sale of the 19-year-old Croatian defender.

Vuskovic's Rise and World Cup Focus

Vuskovic is currently representing Croatia at the World Cup. The team finished second in Group L after a 2-1 victory over Ghana.

He started in Croatia's opening defeat against England but was on the bench for subsequent matches against Panama and Ghana.

His market value surged by €48 million during a loan spell at Hamburg last season, reaching €60 million according to Transfermarkt.

He made 30 appearances across all competitions and scored six goals for Hamburg.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi could not guarantee Vuskovic consistent first-team minutes next season following the arrivals of center-backs Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Before the tournament, Vuskovic addressed his career expectations. "For now, I’m focused only on the World Cup," he said.

"My goal next season is to play for a club that wants me and where I will play."
