Metro Vancouver retail hubs, public transit, and government facilities will operate on adjusted schedules for Canada Day on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Retail and Shopping Centers
Major shopping centers including Pacific Centre, CF Richmond Centre, Metropolis at Metrotown, Park Royal, and McArthurGlen outlet mall will remain open under standard or holiday hours.

Large grocery chains such as Walmart, Real Canadian Superstore, Save-On-Foods, and Safeway will serve customers.
Costco warehouse locations will be closed for the day.
Cultural and Recreational Sites
The Vancouver Art Gallery, Science World, Vancouver Aquarium, and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park plan to maintain normal operations.
A limited number of city-operated community centers and outdoor pools will open.

All regional library branches except the Carnegie branch will close.
Public Transit
TransLink will run on a holiday schedule with single-zone fares applied across buses, SkyTrain, and SeaBus.
The West Coast Express commuter train will not operate.

Government Services
Federal and municipal government offices, including Passport Canada, Service Canada, Canada Post, ICBC, and Vancouver City Hall, will remain closed until Thursday.
