Newcastle United has overhauled its summer recruitment strategy by targeting high-potential prospects like TSG Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure after agreeing to sell midfielder Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur for £100 million.

The Magpies are moving swiftly to advance multiple incoming transfers using the newly secured funds, according to Chronicle Live.

£100 Million Tonali Deal

The agreement with Tottenham guarantees Newcastle £92.5 million upfront with an additional £7.5 million in performance-related add-ons.

Tonali is scheduled to fly to London for a medical examination before the transfer is officially confirmed.

German publication Kicker reported that Newcastle finalized a €50 million transaction with TSG Hoffenheim for Toure, roughly £42 million.

The deal includes a €48 million fixed fee plus €2 million in achievable bonuses.

Toure will reportedly sign a five-year contract at St James' Park.

The winger is flying directly from the United States to England for his medical after the Ivory Coast national team exited the World Cup.

The transfer also triggers a financial windfall for Toure's former club, Hammarby IF.

Swedish outlet Expressen reports the club will receive a €5 million payout due to a sell-on clause inserted when the attacker moved to Hoffenheim in February 2025.

This capital injection follows the sale of winger Anthony Gordon to Barcelona in May, a transfer that could reach £75 million with add-ons.

The combined revenues allow Newcastle to target upgrades across four primary positions: goalkeeper, full-back, central midfield, and wide forward.

Beyond Toure, Newcastle continues to monitor several targets, including Johan Manzambi, Lamine Camara, and James Trafford.

The club is also tracking Tottenham player of the season Archie Gray, though manager Roberto De Zerbi remains reluctant to sell the 20-year-old midfielder.
