Television presenter and chef Lisa Faulkner announced on Thursday that she recently underwent major surgery after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
The 54-year-old Holby City star shared the news on Instagram, explaining that a routine NHS mammogram screening detected the disease.

Doctors have confirmed that the surgery successfully removed all cancerous tissue. Faulkner said she is healing well and will begin preventative radiotherapy in the coming weeks.
“I know I’ve been very quiet on here, reason being I have had to have surgery for the early stages of breast cancer,” she wrote.
She urged her 372,000 followers not to delay routine medical appointments, emphasizing that without the screening, her condition would have gone undetected.
“I just wanted to say don’t put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn’t have been picked up,” Faulkner said.

“Thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact we can have these mammograms and we can get treatment early,” she added.
Faulkner has been married to MasterChef judge John Torode since October 2019. Torode has not yet publicly commented on her health update.
