Tesla has launched the Model Y L in the United States, a stretched version of its popular crossover with a longer wheelbase and a third row of seats.
The new variant arrives as the Model X exits production, targeting families who found the standard Model Y's optional third row too cramped.

The Model Y L rides on a 119.7-inch wheelbase, 5.9 inches longer than the standard model.
Overall length increases by 6.9 inches to 195.6 inches.
The roofline is 1.7 inches higher, improving headroom. Maximum cargo capacity reaches 89 cubic feet, 15 cubic feet more than the regular Model Y.
Exterior changes include a larger tailgate, more pronounced rear spoiler, bigger windows, and a new Cosmic Silver paint option.
The US-spec version is built at Gigafactory Texas. It first appeared in China in August 2025.
