Hyundai has posted its best-ever June sales in the United States, with 77,555 vehicles sold, an 11 percent increase year-over-year.

The automaker also achieved a record first half of 2026, moving 450,568 units, up 3 percent from the same period last year.

Electrified models accounted for 33 percent of all Hyundai vehicles sold in the US this year.

Record monthly sales were recorded for the Santa Fe HEV (up 12 percent), Sonata HEV (up 246 percent), and Tucson HEV (up 14 percent).

Ioniq 5 Defies Tax Credit Loss

The Ioniq 5 remains Hyundai's most important electric model, with 20,730 units sold through June 2026, a 9 percent increase from last year.

This growth comes despite the federal $7,500 EV tax credit being eliminated in September 2025.

Second-quarter Ioniq 5 sales rose 4 percent to 10,940 units.

However, June sales fell 26 percent compared to the same month a year ago, a drop attributed to the rush of buyers who purchased in June 2025 before the tax credit expired.

The Ioniq 9, which went on sale in spring 2025, has sold 4,858 units year-to-date, with June sales up 21 percent to 857 units.

Ioniq 6 Sales Collapse

In contrast, the Ioniq 6 saw a dramatic decline.

Year-to-date sales dropped 80 percent to 1,241 units, as all versions except the high-performance Ioniq 6 N have been discontinued in the US.

Only 38 units were sold in June.

Hyundai's best-selling model in June was the Tucson, with 19,581 units sold, up 20 percent.

The Sonata and Venue rose 36 percent and 20 percent respectively, while the Palisade increased 23 percent and Elantra rose 22 percent.
