The distributed funds, previously known as the GST/HST credit, are scheduled for disbursement every three months.

This follows a one-time payment issued in early June that provided eligible recipients with 50 percent of the annual value of the benefit.

25% Increase for Five Years

According to a report by The Canadian Press, the federal government has implemented a 25 percent increase to these quarterly distributions.

The boost will remain active for the next five years.

Prime Minister Mark Carney introduced the affordability program in January. It aims to alleviate financial pressure caused by escalating costs for essential goods.

Annual totals for families vary significantly based on their specific household dynamics.
