The Golden State Warriors opened the California Classic with a commanding 104-72 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night at Chase Center in San Francisco.

Golden State shot 65 percent from the field, building an insurmountable 24-point lead by halftime.

Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg went a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range in the first half, combining with Will Richard for 32 points before the break.

The Lakers struggled offensively, shooting just 37 percent.

Rookie Cameron Carr provided an early spark with 11 points in the second quarter and finished with a team-high 19 points, including five three-pointers.

Second-Half Push Falls Short

Los Angeles showed signs of life in the third quarter behind Chris MaƱon's playmaking.

Adou Thiero added a three-point play and finished with nine points, four rebounds, and two steals.

Golden State extended its lead to 34 points by the end of the third period.

The Lakers opened the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run, but Graham Ike stopped the momentum with a layup.

Arthur Kaluma contributed 12 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Lakers.

Anton Watson scored nine points, while Zhaire Smith and AK Okereke combined for 11 bench points.

The final minutes were garbage time as both teams exchanged baskets.

The Lakers will look to bounce back against the Miami Heat on Sunday at 1:30 PM PT.
