The Blue Jays scored both runs in the third inning against Seattle starter Luis Castillo.

Castillo allowed two runs on five hits and one walk, recording eight whiffs. Despite maintaining his velocity, he surrendered 12 hard-hit balls out of 21 balls in play.
Seattle attempted a late rally against Toronto relievers Jeff Hoffman and Louis Varland. Víctor Robles drew a walk, while Colt Emerson and Crawford worked full counts against Hoffman.
Dominic Canzone managed a single off Varland, but the Mariners could not score.
