Actor Daniel Brühl has stepped back into his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Baron Helmut Zemo for a new promotional trailer.

The advertisement is for the Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes crossover set, which launched in July 2026.

The German-language commercial shows Brühl wearing a comic-accurate purple trench coat inside a hidden base. He is seen assembling a themed deck of villain cards.

This appearance is non-canonical to the MCU storyline.

However, it marks Brühl's first time playing the character since the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Promotional Video Features Tongue-in-Cheek Storyline

According to reports from Yahoo News and Popverse, the video includes a humorous plot.

Brühl's character faces off against local tabletop gaming players using a deck that includes a Thanos card.

The collaboration follows a similar promotional appearance by fellow MCU actor Paul Bettany. He helped reveal the Mind Stone card at MagicCon: Las Vegas in May 2026.

In the MCU timeline, Baron Zemo was last seen imprisoned on the Raft.
